Our home

Our home was build in 1927 and we have acquired and thoroughly renovated it in 2014. It is comfortable yet we have tried to keep many of its traditional properties, such as the wooden construction of the attic, interior doors, wooden windows etc. We have also rather large garden of 6000 square meters that offers us a lot of privacy and an old stone and brick barn that has not changed over the decades. We grow some vegetables in the garden and also have hens and thus fresh eggs every morning. Of course you can use some of those when you are our guests. We have a large terrace with nice views into the neighboring fields, forests and hills.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are Maryna and Jan and have met over 12 years ago. We are in our mid fifties and both love travelling, trekking, skiing, bycicling, music, good food and wine. On top of that Maryna is very fond of movies and theatre so Jan starts to learn more of this as well. The apartment offered is our summer home so non simultaneous exchange is no problem, even preferred. We are also very flexible with the length of the exchange - from a couple of days up to couple of weeks. We can also offer exchange a large country house about 1 hour drive eastwards of Prague, Czech republic, located in a small rural community in between forests and fields. Both of these properties are available for an exchange as well. Please ask for details and pictures.
We have done over 10 exchanges within the last 10 years and have always enjoyed very much - it is a great way to travel.
We will take proper care of your home, same as we await from our guests.

  2. Maryna is a lawyer who has discovered the world of fine wines over a decade ago and made a change in her career and now is running her own wine importing Company. Jan has foreign trade background and runs his wine producing project in the Czech Republic. We both have really enjoyed our Diploma in Wines and Spirits studies that we have completed in 2012. So we may say that wine is in our blood :-)

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

There is a lot our neighbourhood offers. It takes about an hour drive to reach the centre of Prague, Capital of Czech Republic. It takes 20 minutes to visit Cesky Sternberk - an important and beautifully preserved gothic castle, in 30 minutes you can reach town Kutna Hora - medieval city that once competed with Prague to be the Capital of Bohemian Kingdom. In about 40 minutes you can visit the Abbey in Zeliv - a very important medieval place important in the Czech history, as well as Sazava Abbey that is in the direction to Prague. The nearest golf course is in the town called Kacov just 3 kilometres away and offers 27-hole ground (www.panoramagolf.cz). If you prefer nature and out-door activities, you can find numerous country walks and bicycle paths that start right from our home. You can also go fishing in the Sazava river just nearby in Kacov. For doing this you should obtain your license first. In early autumn you can also go mushroom picking in the neighbouring forests. In winter, we have enough snow covering the fields which happens once every 3-5 years, we can do cross-country skiing right off our door.
