Our home

Apartment complex is virtually in the heart of old town. In evenings there is always some kind of activity at Piazza della Liberta during summers. There is local market and convenience store in close proximity. Fine dining can also be inexpensive in the town.

Due to Venice’s long rule on the west coast and in Istria’s interior, you can enjoy Venetian architecture - the most beautiful examples of Venetian palaces are those in Porec/Parenzo.

There are numerous beaches to the right and left of the town (or the condo), some are on a walking distance (depending on beach 2 min walk or longer) and those farther ones can be reached by boat, like beaches in Green Lagoon. Due to interesting coastline, boat trip is rather exciting.

There is an island right across the old town - St Nicholas Island. Those beaches can be reached by a short boat ride.

I have considerable experience in beach life worldwide, so I can confirm that for a quiet enjoyment of clear waters with no major currents, this is unique.

Apart from rare occasion of a wave of jelly fishes, waters do not sport anything dangerous either.
It is spa like atmosphere of baths in other parts of the world.

There are very few sandy beaches.

Sea urchins spotted during riva evening walk assure you of quality of water.

Pine trees provide natural shade on most beaches.

Venetians love to vacation in Istria due to quality of its beaches.

I recommend you to take a swim just behind UNESCO World Heritage Porec/Parenzo Basilica few minutes from my condominium.

Parenzo is one of the well known touristic towns on Istrian peninsula not far from Lim fjord with well-developed infrastructure for tourists. From Istrian relief map, it can be verified that Parenzo is located in flat area of the peninsula that presents opportunities to enjoy shallow calm waters with no ominous mountain to stare at while swimming. It is also reasonably distanced from ports of Pula/Pola or Koper/Capodistria.

There are mini-trains going to the right and left of the old town - these go to hotel areas like Blue Lagoon. You would need a mini-train only if you wish to go farther. Many hotels have wellness centers.

Numerous cultural events occur during summer from classical music concerts in UNESCO World Heritage Euphrasian Basilica to jazz festivals.

There is penthouse feel to apartment. It is not common for the buildings in the old town to have elevators on the other hand. There are: living room with balcony (that can be turned into bedroom if necessary), dining room, bedroom with balcony. Kitchen and bathroom are fitted with all needed appliances.

Who we are

  1. Specialist medical doctor - Radiologist exchanging vacation home. I have lived and worked in various parts of the world and also experienced a number of very nice home exchanges in the past years. The fact that I am willing to welcome you in my deeply loved home is your best assurance that I will be careful of your home. It is my expectation to swap pictures of people involved in exchange during negotiations.

In general, I don't do "last minute" exchanges. More often I start arrangements at least half a year if not longer before actual swap. Also I don't have short term view - if I have already arranged a swap, but I am interested in your destination, I would consider arrangements at a later time. In essence, we like balanced exchanges, even if swap is non-simultaneous. For long travel destinations, from experience we prefer to stay for 3 weeks. Hospitality is likely option as well.

Where is it?

Various airlines would take you to VENEZIA/Venice airport (many have even good rates), from there you can take ferry to Porec. EASYJET is a good choice since it flies into MARCO POLO airport and from there you can take VENEZIA LINES catamarans to Porec/Parenzo

http://venezialines.com

Crossing between Venice and Porec takes approximately 2 hours 45 minutes. The service usually runs between April 30 and October 1.

All Venezia Lines ferries depart from San Basilio Terminal in Venice. From Marco Polo Venice airport you can reach San Basilio Terminal by using the Aliliguna bus or ATVO shuttle service.

Alternatively, RYANAIR would take you to Ronchi dei Legionari airport near TRIESTE or PULA airport. Both are approximately at the same distance from Porec in different directions.

Posted pictures advertise beach life on a walking distance from apartment. For the pictures of the condo itself please contact me. I would need your generic e-mail address (like HOTMAIL, AOL, GMX, ...) to send them.

You can spend an eventful day in Venice/VENEZIA by catamaran (approx 2.5 h ride in one direction), and there is a variety of vessels to choose from.

Area is rather interesting and there's a number of important towns to visit on a short distance:
