Our home

Our home was built in 2008. It has 2 bedrooms, each with a private bath. Each bedroom has a king bed that can be changed into 2 twins. In addition, there is a loft that sleeps 1 or 2 people. There is also a lovely guest bathroom, a laundry room with washer/dryer, and an outdoor shower. The open living area- which opens onto the pool - has 20’ teak ceilings with 18 windows that provide lots of light and air flow supported by ceiling fans throughout the house. Prepare fresh meals in the well-equipped kitchen that includes a refrigerator, oven, stovetop, dishwasher, microwave, blender, toaster, and coffeemaker and has granite countertops with a breakfast bar that seats 4. Two walls of the house are sliding doors that completely open, giving you the feeling of being outside. The house is situated on the top of a hill, ensuring complete privacy, and has beautiful views across a valley, with mango trees filled with frolicking monkeys and many types of birds.

Our home is a short 10 minute walk to a world-class beach, Playa Guiones. Nosara has been named by the New York Times, CNN and National Geographic as "one of the top places in the world to visit". The area is known for great surfing and wellness-oriented opportunities like yoga, massages, etc. There are many really good restaurants in the small town that is just a 10 minute walk. The whole area is part of a nationally protected wildlife preserve, and as a result, there is much woodland with trails. A short drive away is Ostional Beach, a major turtle preserve where you can watch Olive Ridley turtles come ashore to lay their eggs once every month at the new moon. San Juanillo is just a bit further and offers great snorkeling. There are many activities available - world-class deep-sea fishing, kayaking, stand-up paddle-boarding, zip-lining, bird-watching, horseback riding etc. as well as the opportunity to just relax at the pool or on the beach. The beach, named Guiones Beach, is a beautiful, large, 4 mile long beach that is virtually empty of people.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We are in a remote beach town about 2 1/2 hours from Liberia airport in Costa Rica. The jungle comes right down to the sea. Despite that, the town has many amazing restaurants, many featuring great music in the evenings. There are tons of yoga and exercise classes available at all hours of the day. The area is known for wellness and there is a huge focus on healthy living, healthy eating. The surf break is one of the best in Costa Rica, if not the world. It is a consistent wave that is good for both beginners and experienced surfers. The town is growing rapidly, so there is plenty to do and see. We are 7 kilometers from Ostional Beach, one of the largest turtle nesting beaches in the world. Turtles come by the thousands to nest every month during the new moon. The babies hatch during the full moon. Another 7 kilometers further is San Juanillo Beach, good for snorkeling.
