Our home

Our home is am older home of three floors and is divided into three units all separate and self contained. Currently we live in the main and upper floor of the house which has lots of steps but that gives some lovely views over the waterway. Mountains are seen in the distance and wonderful views of nearby parkland.
The lowest floor is a garden suite modern and built by us for us when we were considering living elsewhere and making this our ' pied a terre' but now is available as exchange if stairs are inconvenient.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our street is on a cul de sac near banks, mall, bus stops, coffee shops, parks walking and biking king trails. The Gorge waterway connects travels from our home to the downtown working harbour ( float planes, local boats, ships - to USA ) in the Center of Victoria ( here is where you will have tea at the Empress, shop in the many quaint stores and diverse and excellent restaurants) .

Best restaurants
So many to choose from. Eating out in Victoria is a popular pastime and breakfast line ups are not uncommon.
Butcharts Gardens is famous for its wonderful gardens which are splendid all year round and concerts in the summer evenings are a popular pastime for locals and tourists alike
Favourite cafés
Tea shops , book shops, fashionable clothing stores abound
Where to go shopping
Our home is within walking distance of coffee shops and banks including two malls.
Your area's cultural and historical landmarks
The interactive museum, castles, our local and professional theater groups, a large Chnatown, historic well preserved castles and buildings make Victoria a charming and beautiful city. Flower baskets hang from lamp standards making parts reminiscent of the British heritage.
Local walks
Many parks and gardens many along the Gorge waterway are all well used and beautiful
Places you love to exercise
Warren - local gym in community Center. Pam is more of a walker than a gym person
Top day trips
Vancouver is a day trip away . The island points of.-iinterest: surfing in Tofino, fishing, hiking, beaches ,bird watching ( eagles abound) island off the coast from Victoria are all accessible as day trips and include both US and Canadian island. Whales are commonly sighted and there are many opportunities for whale watching trips from the harbour.
