Our home

Our home is centrally located and well loved and cared for. We live in a new spacious townhouse. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, two bathrooms and an office and on the main floor is an open plan, living room, kitchen. There is a downstairs with a family room and bathroom. We love art and books and our home reflects that. We keep it neat, clean and enjoy being so close to everything!

Who we are

  1. My name is Carla. And my husband is Art. We have a lovely 9 year old daughter named Lulu she is attending a French Immersion school. I am a full time visual artist and Art is a writer/photographer and an associate professor of cultural studies at Emily Carr University. We love the world of art, music and travel. We are really looking forward to our future exchange and have had 4 very successful exchanges so far. We see it as a great opportunity and a wonderful way to travel! We are interested in a "long term"(a semester or so..) exchange to NYC or Brooklyn or London or Paris or surrounding area; also Ireland or anywhere in Europe. We are also open to shorter trips anywhere!

Your neighbourhood

We live in the heart of Vancouver. In the Commercial Drive neighborhood. There are many cafes, restaurants, and wonderful eclectic shops. It's an area known as little Italy with great food markets. And nice parks nearby. It is so easy and close to get downtown, or to the mountains. There is amazing skiing and winter activities and of course the summer months are brilliant, with so many things to see and do. My husband works on Granville Island which takes less than 15 minutes to get to. Vancouver's ocean shores and sea wall walks are West Coast living at its best.
