Our home

A spacious top floor flat in a beautiful Victorian house in the very heart of Bristol, in Redland. The flat has gorgeous views out across the city from both the bedroom and living room windows. The flat has all modcoms, including broadband, DVD player etc. and a charming, homely atmosphere. It has a big, bright landing, lit up from a skylight, a huge living area with sofas, desk, bureau, dining table, coffee table, computer, TV and lots of lighting, a charming kitchen with cute built in Victorian cupboards(!) and a quiet, cool back bedroom. You're quite welcome to use the popcorn machine, foot spa etc.!! and everything is really in walking distance.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are a young, professional couple (23y.o)(engineering and teaching)living and working in Bristol. We both speak a couple of European languages and are keen European travellers. We are both keen sportpeople (Badminton/karate/rugby) and are fairly laid back about where we go to (beach/city/mountains) etc. This would be our first house exchange.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Redland is a very safe, green district of Bristol. It is remarkably quiet despite its proximity to the centre. It has a park literally outside the door of the apartment, and is about 30 seconds walk from the local bakery for freshly baked pastries in the morning! It is about 5 minutes walk from the restaurant/entertainment district of Bristol, 15 minutes walk from the alternative/'boutiquey' shopping district, and a further 5 minutes from here to the high street shops. We also live just 10 minutes walk from the Downs, a huge green expanse which stretches for tens of miles and is perfect for hiking, biking, picknicking, entertaining the kids etc.
Bristol is a big, metropolitan city with lots of individual, charming touches; a bit like a mini-London, but without the cram! It has fantastic connections: 15m train journey to the beautiful Roman town of Bath, 40m train journey to the capital of Wales, Cardiff, 1hr train journey to the wilderness of Devon and Exeter, and with good and easy access to London for the odd day trip. It is also, of course, right on the coast, as so has good access to local beaches.
