Our home

Our house is a 2 story Tudor, circa 1940, with some interior art deco features. It is set in a large lot that is 40' wide and 220 feet deep. Including the finished basement, the house is about 4000 square feet. On the main floor is a very large living room with a baby grand piano, antique rugs and interesting paintings. There is also a powder room, dining room that seats 10, and a kitchen which opens onto a large, sunny breakfast area with an antique harvest table that seats 8. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a new gas oven and fridge. Behind the breakfast area and open to it is a very large, very sunny, sunken family room that opens onto the back yard. It contains a marble fireplace, a large built-in library and entertainment unit with a TV, VCR, DVD and stereo, with a stunning view of the huge back yard which is surrounded by some very large oak trees. The family room sits above a large finished play room in the basement and there is a staircase which connects them. Upstairs is a large master bedroom with its own bathroom (shower only), a king size bed, a sofa that sits under a skylight, TV and a divided off dressing area with wall to wall closets. It opens into a small paneled study which has a computer and internet hook-up. Upstairs there is also another larger bathroom with a bathtub, and 3 good sized bedrooms, one of which has bunk bed. There is also a home office in the basement with computers, internet, etc.

Your neighbourhood

We live about a 10 minute drive from downtown Toronto, near a famous tourist landmark called Casa Loma, a huge century-old castle. Ourhouse is located in a prestigious neighborhood called Forest Hill and our street is lined with stately homes and large trees. Our street is a cul-de-sac of sorts and is very quiet and relatively traffic-free. Nearby is a subway station, a lovely ravine that is ideal for jogging and biking, public tennis courts, a terrific supermarket and many restaurants of all kinds. There is a bus service nearby as well.
