Our home

Our house has large, comfortable rooms. The 3rd bedroom is converted to a sewing room but there is a comfortable Queen size pull-out couch in downstairs den. Downstairs area not counted in area measurement. The garden is mostly lawn with some flower beds and some vegetable garden. The property is secluded and very private. Does not feel suburban. We have a car which can be included in the exchange, it is a 7 passenger 2005, Ford Freestar. Mission has a train to Vancouver in the early morning. We presently have a 2nd property near the town of Nelson in the Kootenay region of BC. (Please note that we may have sold this property by the time of our next exchange) It is a stationary mobile home in a park on Kootenay Lake. This sleeps six including two persons on a pull-out couch in living room. It has full lake-view and is comfortable and is in a scenic part of the country. It is also well placed for a stop over on the way to Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise etc.

Who we are

  1. Gordon and myself (Betty) are retired. Gordon enjoys playing golf and table-tennis. I enjoy, sewing and other pastimes. We both enjoy travelling and have already made three successful home exchanges in England where we both have family. Two more exchanges in Australia were also very successful. We have visited many areas in the US and some in Mexico. We enjoy spending time at home and in the garden. Our children are now married and not living nearby so we often visit them to see the grandchildren growing up. We now have a new grandchild bringing the total to 6.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We are two miles uphill from Mission, a small town with three supermarkets and various other shops. A five min. walk from house is Westminster Abbey, Benedictine, which has daily masses and a wooded area with pleasant walks and viewpoints over the Fraser Valley. Several golfcourses nearby are inexpensive. Mission is around 45-50 miles from Vancouver on a main highway. There is early morning train service linking to rail and bus services in Vancouver. US border is about 10 miles south of here. Several lakes within 40 mile radius of Mission.
