Our home

We have a large, comfortable 3 level family home. The main floor consists of an open floor plan including a living room, den, kitchen and half bath. Upstairs has 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Three of the rooms have queen size beds, and one has a single bed. The lower floor is mainly used by the kids. It has 2 bedrooms, each with double beds, and also has a pool table, foos ball and air hockey, and a sitting area with T.V. The fenced in backyard, which is off the kitchen, has a beautiful deck, as well as a hot tub which gets lots of use, especially after a long day of skiing, bike riding, soccer or just a nice long hike through our many trails.

Who we are

  1. My name is Teresa(50) and my husbands name is Bill(58). We have 2 daughters who are both in the French Immersion program at school (neither Bill or I speak French). Lindsey(15), spent 2 weeks in France on an exchange program with her school spring 2006, and is quite into music. Naomi(13), is just crazy about horses, taking riding lessons as well as working at the barn. Bill has enjoyed travelling since his retirement from the fire dept a few years back. He has Trekked the Camino in Spain, hiked Machu Pichu in Peru. As for myself, well...I'm still working. Luckily I am still enjoying my job, which is playing with cut flowers. I also enjoy taking piano lessons, and watching the girls grow up to be fine young ladies. We are an active family who enjoys soccer during the fall/winter and in the summer we keep a trailer at Cultus Lake, which is a resort town 45 minutes away. We have sub-let our home a few times in the past, but this is our first time trying a home exchange. We are hoping for 2-3 weeks during the summer of 2008.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We have chosen Langley as our home because it is situated close enough to the city, but also close to the country. It is a 35 minute drive to Vancouver, which is a picturesque city for young and old, beach goers to gallery lovers to nature lovers. We are 35 minutes from White Rock, a seaside community with beautiful beaches, fine restaurants and great shopping. We are also 5 minutes away from Fort Langley, the historical town which is the Birthplace of B.C. We are also 30 minutes away from the U.S. border. Our house is located 2 blocks away from all ammenities such as groceries, liquor store, community centre, swimming pool and library. The area has 3 golf courses within 5 kms, walking trails, hiking, horseback riding, as well as fishing and canoeing down the Fraser River, all just minutes away.
