Our home

My home is a newly renovated home situated in a prime neighbourhood of Fredericton, the beautiful capital city of New Brunswick. The house features a living room, den, kitchen with laundry set, dining room seating for 8, a master bedroom (queen bed) with full ensuite, guest bedroom (double bed), second bathroom with shower, finished attic space with office and twin beds, three flat screen tv's, high speed fibre op wifi, and outside patio and deck space with BBQ.
I live across the street from a lovely municipal park with tennis courts, 5 minutes from a large acerage park with woodland trails, and minutes from the City Trail system which allows one to walk or bike for over 90 km of well maintained trails that often follow the beautiful St John River.

I am an experienced home exchanger with a previously owned property and truly value the opportunity to temporarily 'live' in a place, getting to know the people and way of life.

I would most likely travel with a friend and am open to suggestions for destinations. A non simultaneous exchange can be arranged (there are certain months of the year that I would not recommend coming to this part of Canada...April and November offer neither the beauty nor agreeable weather).

Atlantic Canada is a wonderful destination and my home is a perfect base from which to explore both the city of Fredericton and everything the region has to offer.

Who we are

  1. I am a retired educator in my late 60's. Prior to my late husband's passing, we were fortunate to have travelled extensively and to have completed more than a dozen successful home exchanges.
I am now interested in re-engaging with life and travel, and hope that others will enjoy my peaceful and comfortable home in this lovely corner of Canada.

  2. I love nature and outdoors, but also appreciate the art, cultural and historical elements of new locations. My preference would be to exchange to smaller towns or cities, with an opportunity to access larger centres as appropriate.

  3. I have learned that up-front communication is an essential element of home exchange, and would hope to have good email exchange with potential exchange partners prior to agreeing on swap. I have several friends with whom I might travel, but generally would be looking for a two person accommodation.
I can assure you that your home will be cared for as I would my own, with attention and respect.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Fredericton is both a modern and an historic city, the capital of the province of New Brunswick. With only about 65000 residents, the city feels pleasantly small and very safe, as well as being both clean and green. The St. John River runs through the city centre, and over 90 km of groomed walking and bike trails create a wonderful network for activity.
It is home to two universities, the NB College of Craft and Design, the seat of politics, a vibrant art and culture scene, a growing microbrewery industry, lovely parks, restaurants, and a history that combines heritage from United Empire Loyalists to French Acadian influences. Fredericton also hosts a night market during the summer months, and is home to the Boyce Farmers market, a year round Saturday event featuring local produce and products. It is a wonderful destination.

It is also an easy day trip to the fabulous Bay of Fundy with the highest tides n the world ( and spectacular hiking in Fundy National Park (
Warm sand beaches are only a few hours drive away at Shediac and Kouchibiquac National Park (
An hour and a half drive will take you to the picturesque village of St.Andrews-by-the-Sea recently voted the top travel destination by US Today magazine. Whale watching, fine dining, art and craft galleries, are all available.

An exchange to Fredericton, New Brunswick will offer all of these things, as well as a warm friendly hospitality that is a hallmark of this part of Canada. If these are the kinds of elements that you value, you will not be disappointed.
