Our home

My house is an 80 year old house that has been furnished with antiques fitting the age of the house. It is a clean and spacious two-storey house with a semi-furnished basement. I have a fenced-in back yard that has a mature perennial garden. Additionally, I have a sunroom which looks out over the garden. There are oak or cork floors throughout with area rugs. In addition to my beautiful house, our neighbours are friendly and willing to offer advice regarding local points of interest.

Who we are

  1. I have been involved with elementary school education for about 25 years, both in Edmonton and Nunavut in Canada's Arctic. I am looking forward to some travelling and spending time in warmer climates. I'm very interested in the possibilities of a house exchange, especially experiencing another country as a resident. I enjoy the arts, outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, skiing, and new adventures.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

My home is conveniently located close to the downtown core of Edmonton, Alberta, population about 800,000.
The city offers many choices of nightlife, from clubs, theatre, fine
dining, to a variety of musical presentations. We have a scenic river
valley with many beautiful parks and recreation facilities. You can enjoy
the river valley by using the bike/walking path that crosses the city from east to west along the river. As well there are many art galleries, a provincial museum, a Science Centre, and a historic Fort Edmonton Park. Edmonton is only about 3 hours drive away from Calgary, the second major city in Alberta. All around Edmonton there are many smaller communities and rural areas to explore. From Edmonton you can reach the Jasper or Banff area in about 4 1/2 hours and experience the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. There are so many sights to see and activities to experience in all the seasons, such as skiing, hiking, white water rafting, or horseback riding. The drive on the Jasper/Banff Parkway is spectacular with many scenic stops
