Courtenay is a city of 35,000 located in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. The Comox Valley boasts an International Airport only 5 min. drive from the house (most connections through Vncouver, YVR). The Valley is renowned for its many artisans, specialty shops and friendly atmosphere. Enjoy world class boating, fishing, diving and kayaking to mention a few. All this is available on our pristine lakes, rivers as well as the ocean, which is only 5 minutes drive from our home. One of 5 seat, a/c cars can be available for your use. You'll love exploring the areas miles of trails where lush forests, numerous parks and alpine meadows await your hiking, running and mountain biking pleasure. For the ski enthusiast there is the renowned Mt. Washington ski resort, which is only a 30 minute drive for us. In the summer you can ride the chair lift for a memorable view of beautiful
Strathcona Park.
To the north of Courtenay there is Campbell River, a local salmon fishing base. To the south, Parksville has beautiful beaches. Nanaimo is Vancouver Island's second largest city and is known as the Harbour City for its picturesque harbour. Chemanius is another island city that boasts the world famous building murals. Victoria known as the "City of Gardens" is a great place for walking, shopping and a favorite tourist activity - whale watching. You are almost guaranteed a show you will never forget by our resident "killer" whales during the summer months.
