Our home

This is home to my husband and I and are 2 young sons - plus our older cat (very friendly - mainly sleeps). We have a small fenced garden with grass in the back and a larger grassed garden area in front, with ample garden furniture. There are also grass areas to both sides of house - Our home is on a ravine at the back, so there are no neighbours behind - it feels like a park with views to the north shore mountains from the master bedroom and the outside yards.

We enjoy our house; it is not fancy, but very comfortable, with a separate (original) kitchen, separate dining room, and Livingroom and then the bedrooms and bathroom up a half flight of stairs. There is a pullout couch in the Living room also - for visitors. We use our large propane BBQ almost all year round, and our car is a 7 seater.

Who we are

  1. My husband and I are both professionals who enjoy travelling when possible with our sons; He is dutch in origin and so we travel to Holland to visit his family and then seek to get to other countries in the area of Holland when we are over in Europe. We enjoy having friends over, especially for outdoor dining in the summer. Our neighbours are fantastic and we are really happy about our quaint little street that we moved on to about 3 years ago!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We are located in a somewhat older, commuter suburb of Vancouver; Coquitlam is a well established, treed, suburb that is close enough to really feel as part of Vancouver. For those wishing to go downtown to see Vancouver, driving or public transportation are good options. If you are looking for outdoor pursuits, nearby there is some beautiful parks for hiking, walking, or doing boating from. There are lots of amenities for kids in the area - outdoor and indoor pools, water spray parks and beaches in the summer. Burrard Inlet, and inlet of the pacific ocean , is a 6 minute drive away. Also for young kids, the local elementary school with large field and play structures is about 10 houses up the street. There are restaurants and shopping areas a close drive away. Farther away, Whistler is 2 hours by car, and Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and the Sunshine Coast are all short ferry rides away.
