Our home

Our home is in a well established district in the Southwest community of Glamorgan. The district is described as "inner city" as we are minutes away from downtown Calgary, and also the Number 1 highway -- gateway to Banff National Park and the Rocky Mountains.
(Banff is just over an hour west of Calgary)
We've been here for 15 years and have recently completed a major renovation of our living room, kitchen and bathrooms.
We love the 'open' concept of our home, the mature, quiet neighborhood we live in, and the convenience in getting around Calgary.

Who we are

  1. We are a happy family of four!
    Gord (44), Kandi (45), Liam (12) and Laura (10).
    (Eight if you count the dog, cat and fish!)
    Kandi is the Business Manager of Health and Wellness at Mount Royal College, and I'm a News Anchor with Global Television.
    We are an adventuresome family that loves to travel. Every summer we tent camp throughout western Canada, love to stay in youth hostels, and even treat ourselves to the occasional Five Star hotel. We're a bit nervous about a Home Exchange, but have heard nothing but good things about them. We see this as a wonderful way to see the world 'more than just the tourist stops' and perhaps make new friends.

Your neighbourhood

Glamorgan would be considered a 'middle class' neighborhood in Calgary, with the average home about 45 years old. We have big yards, big trees, and are on a cul-de-sac with 10 other homes. We are close to two major shopping areas, fitness facilities, Calgary's incredible pathway system that winds throughout the city, and many restaurants and shops.
Calgary is experiencing incredible growth right now, fueled mainly by Alberta's oil industry and reserves. The city continues to push out in all directions, with high density communities sprouting up all the time. We love the fact our home is in a well established neighborhood with plenty of space.
