Our home

We live in a very nice detached house. It was constructed two years ago. Up hill, with a great view on the mountains. The house is equiped with everything a family needs. The ground floor is Harrie's office, small guest room, smaal room with washing machine and dryer and shower toilet. The living room and kitchen are on the first floor. The second floor bathroom, with toilet and three sleeping rooms.
We have a garage for our car and a concrete shed for our mountain bikes (two for adults and two for children).

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are a Dutch family with two children (Annabelle 8 and Laurens 10 years). We live in Sarajevo and work for a Dutch international organisation. In order to keep in touch with Dutch friends and our family (and the children with their nephews and nieces), we spend our summer holidays in the Netherlands. Mostly with our parents (in law), but since they become too old for a long stay, we're looking for proper housing in NL.
We live outside the Netherlands now for in all 13 years (Mainly in Africa, but since 2006 in Sarajevo).

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Gazin Han is the name of the part of Sarajevo we live in. It is two kilometres from the old city center of Sarajevo (Barsjarsja). On height of 700 metres. We have a beautiful view on the mountains. The neighbourhood is very quiet and the air is very clear. That are also the main reasons we live here up hill. Next to our house lives Hasja, she helps us in the housekeeping and, since she's 'always' at home, she will be more than willing to help you out with questions (although you probably have to use your hands and feet, since she only speaks bosnian). We have a 400square meter garden with a small basketball field and grass. We both don't like gardening, so it's very 'natural'.
There's a busstop in front of the house. Three bus routes stop here. Every 20 minutes a bus that'll take you in 8 minutes to city centre (Barsjarsja) or up the mountain from where you can start mountain trekkings (10 minutes ride).
Bosnia has a land climate. It can be hot in the summer, but here uphill it's mostly not too hot.
