Our home

We offer our holiday home with beautiful views through tall eucalyptus trees of the Bay. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a garage
and is very easy care with lovely gardens maintained by a gardener. No work to do. Five minute walk to bayside town with good shopping, great restaurants, craft shops, markets and a five minute drive to many almost deserted beaches. Great walk along the bay in front of the house leads to beaches. Two hours to Canberra (nation's capital), four hours to Sydney by scenic drive along coast, between Sydney and Melbourne. Weather usually very mild, mid 20s. Fishing charters in Bay, rock fishing and deep sea diving available. Five minutes walk to pubs and clubs. Great holiday area. Outside barbeque, sunny balcony. The exchange does not have to coincide - this is our holiday place so is available any time of the year, even Christmas or Easter.

Who we are

  1. We are a newly retired couple, Gary and Frances. Gary, an IT manager at Parliament and Frances, a teacher. We love to travel and would like to spend time in the countryside of the UK for a week or two at a time. We do not mind where in the UK it is, we love it all. This trip we would like to stay around the area rather than moving on all the time and get to know the people. Gary loves fishing and Frances loves history and we both love good restaurants and theatre.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Bateman's Bay was named by Captain Cook on his voyage of discovery to the Great South Land. It is a four hour drive south of Sydney on the way to Melbourne and two hours east of Canberra. Many beautiful beaches in the area are virtually deserted and make great walking areas in winter or swimming spots in summer. The Great Dividing Range sits behind the beaches so there are many walking trails in the mountains as well as vineyards, restaurants and heritage villages. We are five minutes walk from town yet all you will see from the balcony is water and trees and a few pretty houses.
