Our home

A comfortable house where the main sounds are the cows and wild birds. The garden of one acre is new, but looking fine, there is a summer house with views to the distant mountains and hills, over farm land. wW are situated half way between the capital Canberra and Sydney. 1hour 15 mins by car from the Sydney international airport by motorway. This area is known as the highlands so one drives through an amazing mountain road (there are 2 different routes) to reach the ocean where the beaches are beautiful and very safe. There is a train service, but not good however the car can be driven to a station and left which is the easier option. The house is furnished with many regency and Geogian antiques and is very comfortable. The small estate has 19 houses all on large blocks and all are neighbours are friendly and helpful. There are areas for sitting outside and relaxing and a quality barbq. It is a nice place away from the maddening crowd but close enough to explore all we have to offer in this wonderful country.
We would retain our cleaning lady who comes once a week (at our expense of course) who maintains the bathrooms carpets blinds etc, but no ironing washing up etc. She has defined duties and if very nice and lives close by.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

A beautiful small historic village where the post office is the local store. Many walks and caves abound. An historic area with the oldest licensed pub in a nearby village(town) horse studs mountains ans walks are a plenty. It can be cold in our winter months as we are "close" to the snow fields, and the highest point for many miles. There is good shopping 12 kilms away.
