Our home

My house is light-filled and colourfully and comfortably decorated, with an open plan main living area and lots of comfy sofas. The three bedrooms (one currently doubles as a reading room)would sleep at least 4/5 people(could fit more as plenty of floor space). Three way bathroom. The garden is gravel paths amongst white flowering and silver foilaged plants. I think my home has a friendly happy vibe. It's a house everyone enjoys visiting and is very child friendly. I have lots of books which visitors are welcome to read.

Property features

Who we are

  1. Jenny (30's) and Ian (40's) are a children's bookseller and arborist respectively (also part time singer and musician for fun). We are hoping to find home exchanges in England for july/august 06. As I am mostly at Ian's house we can be flexible about when my house is used, it's pretty much open for visitors from at least feb till sept this year (later in the year could also be possible). We haven't done a home exchange before but love the idea.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

My street is in a quiet residential area, with National Park bushlands and waterfalls just a few minutes walk down the road. I'm in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains west (1.5 hrs drive) of Sydney, which is a World Heritage listed site and one of Australia'a most popular tourist destinations. There are amazing natural beauties such as the 'Three Sisters', and wonderful wildlife; hiking, camping, abseiling etc for the adventurous; and great galleries, cafes, restaurants and shopping. Katoomba is an 'arty' place which attracts lots of artists, writers and musicians. The spring and autumn are especially beautiful times to visit, with lots of mild sunny weather.
