Our home

We have a large comfortable home of brick construction which is situated on five peaceful acres of mainly gum trees. It has verandas all round, an upstairs balcony overlooking palm tree garden and small frog pond. An attached wing of the house has its own self contained unit, with a lounge, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and its own bathroom and toilet. We would consider letting this for non simultaneous swaps, from Oct through to April. There is cool air conditioning throughout the whole home to beat the summer heat, and heating for winter. There is always an abundance of fauna on our block, resident possums, bandicoots, bobtail and racehorse lizards in summer, wild birds such as, magpies, kookaburras, honey-eaters, robins and the black cockatoos, red and white tailed varieties. In spring we also have lots of natural wildflowers, Leschenaultia, Hovea, Blue China Orchid to name a few.

Who we are

  1. My husband and I are a retired English couple, who have lived in W.A for 41 years, and this house for the last 15 years. We have grown up children here in Perth and Sydney. We would like to spend time in Uk in 2009. We originally come from Dorset, but have parent in Westcliff Essex.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our neighbourhood is very quiet, and all the homes around us are on large blocks of land. We love the rural aussie atmosphere and space, yet its only 45 minutes car ride away from bustling Perth. Our village of Stoneville, is situated in the hills to the north east of the city,45 minutes from Perth, and Mundaring is only ten minutes away from where we live, with shopping centre and restaurants etc. Activities include, tennis, horseriding, golf, walking and swimming at lake leschenaultia or local pools. Sightseeing could include Mundaring Weir, the swan valley for wine tasting, and historical towns like York and Toodyay.
