Our home

My home is situated in the beach side suburb of Sandy Bay, 5 ks (3 miles) from the Hobart CBD and on a major bus route. The house is 2 stories with 3 bedrooms, Downstairs has a self contained bedroom, bathroom, kitchen area with a queen size bed, The double garage is also downstairs. Upstairs has an open plan kitchen, dinning and lounge area, family bathroom and 2 bedrooms. There is a sun deck off the living room and a secure back garden. The house receives all day sun and has panoramic water views of the River Derwent, Hobart city, Tasman Bridge, and the Eastern Shore suburbs. The house is modern, light and easy to live in, I really enjoy the relaxing views overlooking the garden and seeing the local yacht races and cruise liners as they sail in and around the harbour. I am happy to include the use of a car.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Hobart is the capital city of Tasmania, the Island state to the south of Australia. We have a mild mediterranean climate with 4 distinct seasons. Summer temps are in the mid 20's C, winters are cool but we don't have snow. December - March would be an ideal time to visit to catch the finish of the Sydney Hobart Yacht Race and our Summer Festival between Christmas and New Year and the Wooden Boat Festival and Regatta held early in February. Tasmania is well known for its fine foods and wine, National Parks and Wilderness areas, nature and mountain walks, pristine beaches, fishing and friendly people. Within an easy days drive of Hobart is the Convict settlement of Port Arthur, the Huon and Derwent Valleys with wineries and fruit farms, the historic village of Richmond, Coles Bay with Wineglass Bay and several World Heritage National Parks. Mount Wellington forms a beautiful backdrop to Hobart and the summit is only a 30 min drive from our home. Various ferries visit local sites and islands and our Royal Botanical Gardens is a lovely place to visit. Hobart has a mixture of beautiful colonial buildings and modern architecture and has some interesting city and suburban walks and bike paths. Come and see our latest iconic attraction MONA (Museum of Old and New Art).
Within a 3 min drive or 10 min walk from our house is a lovely safe beach, esplanade, children's playground, restaurants, and shops.
