Our home

About our House: Our home is a modern light filled house in a pretty village just outside Sydney. We live in the township and can walk to the shops, cafés and the local pubs. Our home is designed for relaxed living with open plan living areas. We have outdoor areas to eat or relax in overlooking the village and taking in rural views. We have air conditioning and fans to cool in summer and warm in winter. There are lots of interesting walks from our home and tennis courts, swimming pool, gym, golf course and playing fields a short walk away.

We have 3 double bedrooms, one with a king size bed, and the other with a queen size bed. The third bedroom is used as a study and has a double sofa bed. Our main living area is open plan and there are 2 decks/patio off the living areas and an outside courtyard. We have a BBQ, pizza oven and fire pit to sit by in cooler weather. There is a lovely private garden area.

Who we are

  1. We are both self employed and love to travel for several weeks each year usually from March to July. We have really enjoyed the opportunity to live like locals during our exchanges and appreciate the comfort and amenities of a home environment. We are interested in all countries and their cultures, history, gardens, food and wine. We are keen sailors and love to be on or around water.

We welcome any exchange proposals. In the second half of June 2020 we are planning a two week trip to Italy and would like to arrange two exchanges in different locations. Non-simultaneous exchange for you to stay here is possible most times of the year. Also, our house is available in June 2019 when we will be away.

Exchange ideas in Australia or New Zealand are always welcome.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our town/village has all amenities, including restaurants, historical pubs, clubs, golf course, churches, swimming pools, gyms, craft shops, antiques and tourist information.

Local attractions are many depending on your interests. For the thrill seekers - sky diving, hot air ballooning, go-karting, ghost tours. For garden lovers, Mt Annan Botanical Gardens are close by. There are many historical attractions in the township and in close by Camden. Other attractions and activities in the area are The Railway Museum, Heritage Centre, horse riding, bush walking, movie cinemas, art gallery, markets, wineries.

A great base to the many attractions - 1 hour to Sydney via motorway or train; 1/2 hour to Wollongong's beaches, hang gliding, seafood, restaurants; 1/2 hour to the Southern Highlands gardens, wineries, restaurants, cafes, shopping; and 1 1/2 hours to the Blue Mountains. Canberra is in easy reach from us, an easy 2 hour freeway drive.

For overseas exchangers we would suggest a night or two in Sydney followed by a stay in our rural setting. That way you will get to experience the bustle and vibrancy of Sydney and can then holiday in a more relaxed pace and experience our friendly village and easily get to the region's and greater Sydney's many attractions.
