Our home

Our house is a contemporarily renovated, tri-level, Victorian terrace.
The ground floor offers formal dining with seating for 12 people and fire place. The ground floor bathroon has a shower, w/c and a fully equipped laundry. The kitchen is a well appointed "cook's kitchen", looks great, works well! Whilst you are preparing food you have full views of the lounge room and garden. These 2 rooms can be opened up to become one large entertaining area by folding back the glass and steel doors. The garden is complete with dining table for 8 people, BBQ and fish pond with water fall.
The first floor has a front bedroom with balcony overlooking Hyde Park. The rear bedroom has city views and the two are connected by a landing which serves as an office with computer, fax, copier etc. A second bathroom with shower, bath and w/c service this floor.
The second floor has a third bedroom with park views.
The house and 2 car garage are protected by a security alarm.

Who we are

  1. We are Russ and Bas, (Russell and Basilio).
We have been learning Spanish for some 3 years at night school and are yearning to put our theory into practise.
We are both fitness enthusiasts who enjoy cycling, walking, roller blading and working out. I (Russ)love the beach! It's where I recharge my batteries.
We both enjoy cooking and entertaining. We have a great bunch of friends and an avid social life. We also love eating out. We have our favourite restaurants, but really enjoy discovering new ones.
We have a 14 month old Portuguese Water Dog who goes by the name of Patsy. She is a beautiful friend and companion and is as devoted to us as we are to her.
We would like to visit any country in which the native language is Spanish. We have spent some time in Spain and we love it. We enjoy the beautiful warm climate, the amazing architecture, the colourful and vivacious people and the devine food. We would like to experience more of this Spanish culture either in Spain or Central or South America.
We were taken aback not so long ago by a Mayan exhibition we saw at a museum in London. We would dearly like to see more of the art and architecture in situ if there are any takers in Mexico.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our house stands opposite the 120 year old Hyde Park and has views through the park's canopy of native flora to the two lakes with fountains. The park and it's lakes support an array of bird life. Kookaburras, parrots abound, as does the Black Swan, emblem of Western Australia. It is a popular excercise location for locals.
Sitting on the balcony overlooking all of this you could be mistaken for thinking you were in the countryside. Not so!
Just a short east-bound stroll through the park and you will find yourself at Beaufort St, Mount Lawley. This is the area's main hub of activity with it's world class restaurants, supermarkets, shops, bars, pubs and cinemas.
Walk in a southerly direction for 10 minutes, and pass through China Town in Northbridge, the entertainment district with night clubs, restaurants and bars etc. If culture is more your style, the Art Gallery and Museum of Western Australia are here too!
Walk for another 5 minuted and you will arrive at Perth city centre; great shopping, restaurants, theatre, bars, etc.
Perth's pristine beaches, lapped by the cool, clear waters of the Indian Ocean rank with the planet's best. The climate is great all year round, but September to April is best for the outdoor lovers with beautifully sunny days of 28C-35C.
The Swan River runs through Perth and supports a thriving wine industry centred in the Swan Valley, a 20 min drive from home.
Perth is culturally diverse. It is fun, friendly and safe.
