Property features

Who we are

  1. We are Owen and Lisa (34 and 33 years), Ariel (4 years), and Sage (2 years). Owen is a health promotion researcher at Curtin University (www.cbrcc.curtin.edu.au) and rides his bicycle to work each day. Lisa is a qualified psychologist but currently is staying at home on a full-time basis. Ariel enjoys craft and the going to parks and Sage loves "the Wiggles" and just generally being outside. We are keen to introduce our children to cultures other than our own from as early an age as possible and in April 2007 returned from our first successful home exchange with a great family in Japan.

Your neighbourhood

Safe family suburb within walking distance of local shops and pubs. Three children's playgrounds in close proximity. Ten minutes drive into the city centre, Scarborough Beach, and Kings Park. Bus route on our the street goes to the city and beach. Perth has a very outdoor orientated culture largely accounted for by its fabulous weather encouraging swimming and sun bathing at our pristine beaches, having picnics and barbeques at parks absolutely everywhere, and cycling along the numerous and extensive cycle paths around the city. Day trips can be taken to the Pinnacles rock formations or the Swan Valley wine region, or you can go diving with the dolphins at Rockingham, meet the friendly quokkas at Rottnest Island (and then go snorkling), wade out to Penguin Island (at low tide) to see the penguins and seals, or see the koalas (and caves) at Yanchep National Park. Within one day's drive are the Kalbarri National Park or the Margaret River wine region. Further afield trips include the vast openness of the outback, dolphins at Monkey Mia (that you can feed from the beach), and the astonishing Ningaloo Reef (with giant Whale Sharks that you can swim with).
