Our home

Our home is a typical Australian bungalow style single story house. It has three bedrooms - one with king size bed, a second with a double bed and a third with twin single beds. The bathroom has separate shower and bath facilities. The WC is in a separate room. The main living area is of open plan design and includes the kitchen, dining area and lounge. This area has a polished floor. The bedrooms and corridors are carpeted. Views of the river can be seen from bedrooms 1 & 2 and the living area. The garden is well established with a small lawned area and numerous rose gardens. There is room for covered and uncovered off road parking. An office has been established in a separate building. It has a leather lounge which can be converted into a queen sized bed.

Who we are

  1. We are Ron and Avril Gartrell.
After long careers as teachers we are both now enjoying our retirement.
Throughout our teaching careers we took the opportunity to do a number of teacher exchanges which included exchanging houses. We lived in Singapore, UK, Canada and the USA for a total of 5 years - and loved every moment of it.
Since then we had done home exchanges to England [twice], New Zealand & within Australia.
We are keen to further explore the world by building upon these exchanges. We are comfortable with the idea of sharing our home and looking after yours. We have not once had any problems with other exchangees living in our houses or us living in theirs
In retirement we want to continue to discover new places, without that work component.
We are keen gardeners and would guarantee to look after your property as our own.
