Our home

Our holiday home is a comfortable, slightly rustic, cottage in a beautiful semi rural setting overlooking an estuary lake. The house is sunny, fully furnished, and the kitchen well equipped for the simple life. There are 3 double bedrooms, a small study, open kitchen, and living room. The sunny front verandah with its water, paddock, and distant mountain views provides a perfect setting for meals, bird watching, sun baking and reading. We have a slow combustion wood heater for chilly nights and sea breezes for summer cooling.

Who we are

  1. We are Terry and Lesley. We have a 19 year old daughter who is now at university with a busy independent life. Terry and I are travelling for a month in September 2006 and looking for accommodation in London (8th - 25th)and Barcelona (26th - 30th). By 2008 we will be travelling more extensively for lengthy periods. As our house on the coast is a second home we are very flexible about when we make it available.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The cottage is on 5 acres overlooking Lake Wapengo. The local area is hilly inland with numerous fantastic lagoons and beaches for miles both north and south of us. Our nearest village, Tathra, is 10 minutes drive south with larger rural towns within 20 minutes drive. There are small coastal towns within 30 minutes from which you can arrange game fishing (all year) and whale watching (May-Oct). Lake Wapengo is mostly under oyster lease and is good for fishing, kyaking and walks. Our nearest beach at the mouth of the estuary is a 5 minute drive, a 20-30 minute row, or an adventurous walk. Many artists live in the area and there are interesting studios and galleries, many open to the public year round.
