Our home

Our home is spacious timber, low-set character house. It has been recently rennovated and is in very good condition inside and out. It has a modern kitchen, laundry and two modern bathrooms. There are four bedrooms, but one is currently furnished as an office. The large garden includes lawns, a children's play area, a large in-ground swimming pool and a terrace with gas BBQ for outdoor eating. Our home would suit a family and has plenty of sleeping capacity. Our Volvo estate (7 seater)is available for use.

Property features

Who we are

  1. My husband, Geoffrey, and I are in our late thirties with two small children (aged 1 and 3). I will be visiting Sweden (Gothenburg or Lund/Malmo) as part of my post-graduate studies, and I would like to take the family along too. We are a very active family and enjoy swimming, cycling, camping, visits to the beach and travelling (as much as we can with small children). We hope to find a house that we can live in while we are there and would hope to do some short trips away. We would need to be overseas for around 4-6 weeks in April/May 2007, but have some flexibility with exact dates.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our house is located in a leafy suburb of Brisbane, approx. 10km from the centre of Brisbane city. A train station is only a short walk (5min) away and the train trip to the city centre (with connections to the rest of Queensland and the airport) is an easy 15 min. The area is family-oriented with many facilities an easy 5-10 min bike ride or walk away (a major shopping centre, parks, playgrounds, golf course, sporting clubs, restaurants/cafes, cinemas, public libraries). Brisbane is a good base from which to explore many Queensland tourist destinations - the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast (beaches, beaches, beaches!!!!!), Gold Coast Theme Parks, zoos with Australian wildlife, good walking in national parks (rainforest) on the QLD/NSW border, coastal islands (Moreton Island, Stradbroke Island, Fraser Island) and sailing on Moreton Bay.
