Our home

Our home is set on four acres, five miles from the nearest town, and is surrounded by forests and farmland. We have a cosy, character home with polished wood floors in an open-plan dining/kitchen/lounge room. There are many shady trees and outdoor entertaining areas, including a verandah.

Who we are

  1. We are semi-retired teachers of 59 and 61 and have lived in Western Australia since 1989. Previously we lived in Hebden Bridge, where two of our three children still live - the third is in London. They all have children, and we wish to spend more time with them, especially our young grandchildren. We love our home here, and are reluctant to give it up permanently, although that remains a future possibility. We both attend our local council-run gym in Bridgetown to keep fit and love walking - especially in the Pennines!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We are approximately three hours drive south of Perth, five miles from the very attractive town of Bridgetown. This part of Australia is still largely forested, with farming as the traditional industry. It is set on rolling hills and valleys with many and varied tourist destinations. The regional centre is the coastal town of Bunbury, which is about an hour's drive away. There is a developing local wine industry, with many wineries open to the public. The established and famous wine centres of Margaret River are less than two hours away.
