Who we are

  1. My name is Wayne, I am 48 years old and my wife's name is Maria. We have two children who have grown up and left home, but still reside in Ballina. We thought it time to spread our wings and have always had a desire to spend a lengthy holiday in Ireland to experience and enjoy the culture of Ireland. My son and his girlfriend are also keen to make the trip and have decided to come. We are planning our holiday around the Irish Rugby League season, as we wish to become involved with a Club during our stay.

Your neighbourhood

Famous holiday area in Australia, the Ballina/Lennox Head region is world renowned for its surfing breaks and beaches. The township of Ballina is built on the Richmond River where it meets the ocean and is also famous for its river fishing and deep sea fishing. Our house is situated about five minutes drive to the centre of town and a 400 metre walk through rainforest to a number of well known surfing beaches and river beaches. Byron Bay, probably Australia's best known tourist holiday spot is only 20 minutes north of Ballina and a further 40 minutes to the world famous Gold Coast/Queensland border. The local area is full of rainforests and bushwalking tracks and a one hour drive west takes you to the alternate lifestyle of Nimbin.
