Property features

Who we are

  1. We are a family of 3, mum, dad and new baby. Ben travels and usually camps regularly for work (Wildlife research).

  2. Leah is on maternity leave so we are hoping to use house swapping as a way that Leah can accompany Ben on some of his work trips in a cost effective way.

  3. Our home is pet friendly, especially for a small dog. Our own terrier can stay with our family during swaps. Definitely non-smoking swaps is important to us for our baby's health.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Catching the northeasterly breezes on the small hills, this leafy suburb mostly built in the 1990s is full of families and empty nesters. Our home is on a minor (hourly) bus route, 1km to Woolworths or 500 metres to our corner store. 2km from the beach it feels like everything is just a short trip away.

Best restaurants
If you are looking for fine dining The Spirit House at Yandina and the Spicer's Resorts in the Hinterland are worth the effort and pricetag for a special treat. Our favourite fish and chips takeaway are KIS Seafoods (their burgers are great too).
Nightlife
Caloundra and Moffat beach have small bars, the Sunshine Coast's main nightlife is Ocean St Maroochydore and the coastal restaurants at Mooloolaba.
Favourite cafés
Dicky Beach 2km, Moffat Beach 3km and Caloundra 5km all have lovely cafes and restaurants. Our favourites are The Giggling Goat, The Pocket and Beau's Cafe.
Where to go shopping
Caloundra has lovely local and interesting shopping in Bulcock St.
Your area's cultural and historical landmarks
We enjoy the changing and free exhibitions at the Caloundra Regional Art Gallery opposite the Caloundra library.
Local walks
Ben Bennet is a hidden gem especially for dog walks. The beaches have heaps of possibilities, check where dogs are allowed as there are times off leash rules on some beaches and some parks and walkways are dog free zones. Further afield Mary Cairncross Park (no dogs) and Ewen Maddock Dam (dog friendly) are favourites of ours.
Places you love to exercise
Currimundi Lake is great for kids and SUP enthusiasts, though dogs are not allowed on the beach to protect the seabirds.
