Our home

We love the location, and have lived here since 1992 although we rebuilt the current house in 2008. Our home is convenient to Perth, Fremantle and the beautiful Swan River. Our two storey home has the kitchen/family room, dining/lounge room, master bedroom with king sized bed and ensuite, a separate powder room, and a study on the ground floor. On the second level are two bedrooms with queen sized beds, main bathroom and activity area. The house would suit a family, or alternatively an older couple who may wish to only use the ground floor. The home is casually furnished for easy living, creating a relaxing ambience. The first floor balcony provides excellent views of the city skyline. There are well stocked book shelves and a selection of dvds for your enjoyment as well as cable television. There are several outdoor options for casual meals or relaxing with a coffee or a glass of wine. We have a pool which is great in summer/autumn but which can be covered and not accessed if you are concerned about the responsibility its maintenance may entail.

The house is fitted with reverse cycle airconditioning as well as natural gas heating. We have recently installed solar panels to take advantage of Perth's many hours of sunshine. The garden has a twice weekly automatic watering system.

Who we are

  1. We are Don and Dawn both in our mid 60's who love to travel. Don is a retired commercial manager with a part time consultancy position which entails travel to Jakarta, Indonesia each month. Dawn has worked in a number of areas including libraries, bookselling, and small business. We have lived in the same street for many years, taking the opportunity to rebuild on our former homesite while living and working in Indonesia. Don enjoys cycling, kayaking, and golf. Dawn's interests are quilting, reading, camera club and playing bridge(rather badly). We have two married sons and three young grandchildren.

    We have completed 9 home exchanges and looking forward to travelling to many more interesting destinations in the coming years.

Leafy environs within walking distance of The Swan River and a short walk to numerous restaurants, coffee shops, a supermarket, post office, banks and specialty shops including a newsagency, butcher and numerous boutiques, shoe shops and hair salons. Public transport (bus route) is nearby. Garden City, a major regional shopping centre is a short drive away - or walk if you are feeling energetic. Our home is a ten to fifteen minute drive from the Indian Ocean with its white sandy beaches and a ten minute drive from both Perth city and Fremantle. Ardross is within the City of Melville which boasts many community facilities, including an Aquatic Centre, gyms, cycle paths, walking paths beside the river, golf courses and public open space. Wireless Hill a nature reserve with spectacular views over Perth City and the Swan River, a short stroll away.
