Our home

Our home is comfortable clean and tidy. We have a comfortable lounge which has both an airconditioner and wood fire. The kitchen and dinette are combined and have just been completely refurbished. Reverse A/C in this room also. Although 3 bedrooms, two have queen size beds and the 3rd has been turned into an office for the computer. The back of the house has a fully enclosed patio which overlooks the garden. Garden although not large is filled with native plants which attract parrots and other native birds. There is a garage and plenty of parking area.

Who we are

  1. Our names are Gil and Isa and both in our 60s. We originally came from the UK 40 years ago and like to go back for visits. This will be our first home swap instead of staying with relations. We are also interested in doing coach trips and sightseeing whilst we are over there. We travel quite a bit all over Australia and enjoy meeting new people and seeing new places. We would like to arrange an exchange sometime in advance so we can get to know one another before we actually do the swap and we will look after your home as if it were our own. We would like to have approx 2 - 3 months exchange sometime in the period shown above.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our home is situated about 10 minutes from the centre of Albany. Albany itself was the first settlement in Western Australia. There are 2 main rivers nearby the Kalgan and the King, with boat tours conducted on the Kalgan. Fishing in both rivers is good. The Southern Ocean has some of the best unspoiled beaches and bays around and fishing is also good. There are museums including the historic whaling station. Outside of the immediate area there are two National Parks, the Stirlings and the Porongorups to explore. Idea for bushwalking. On slightly longer trips there is the Valley of the Giants with the tree top walk. Perth itself is approx 400 kms north on a very good highway or approx 1 hr by plane.
