Our home

My little 'city pad' is great! It has a return balcony facing North and West. Very airy and light. The bedroom has a double bed and the living area has a double sofa bed. It is furnished in mainly neutral colours, but it is quite eclectic as I have retained some 'homely' touches from the family home. My apartment block is small - only 40 apartments - mine is on the first floor - with trendy retail outlets on the ground floor. The apartment building was completed three years ago. I am right in the heart of the East End, which is a vibrant eating and boutique shopping area.

Who we are

  1. My name is Marjorie and I live alone in my apartment. I am divorced. My two adult children live in Melbourne, Victoria. I have recently retired from the Financial Planning industry. I love to shop, love to go to the theatre and opera. I am a member of a book club. I dine out a great deal, but also love to have friends over for dinner. I belong to Slow Food and really enjoy functions with my Slow Food friends. I love South Australian wines.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

I live in the Garden East development of the East End Precinct, which was the wholesale fruit and vegetable market which supplied Adelaide until the 1990's when the market re-located to an outer northern suburb of Adelaide. I am within easy walking distance of our Art Gallery, Museum, University, retail shopping, boutiques, theatre, cinemas, great eating cafes/restaurants, botanic gardens, Wine Museum and interesting bars and pubs. Adelaide is easy to get around - it is known as the '20 minute city' - you are only around 20 minutes from beaches, Southern Vales Wineries etc. I love my city lifestyle.
