“Our exchange with Ottilie and Andrew was a surprise exchange which worked out perfectly well! Ottilie was an absolute delight to communicate with and really went out of her way to make sure that we were well taken care of including arranging a collection from the airport which we were so grateful for. The location itself is ideally situated about a 5 min walk to the Wapping tube station and the bus stop is right outside the door. The local area has good pubs and restaurants and the best fish and chips!! The supermarket Waitrose was a 15 min casual walk away from the apartment it was really lovely to walk along the basin and along the woods and channel route which was fantastic. You can take a leisurely walk to St Catherine's Dock & London Bridge. If you are new to London, the beauty of this location is that you are away from the maddening crowd but within easy reach of all tourist sight seeing destinations. We were there during summer so were able to do plenty of walking around London. I would recommend good walking shoes and a good fitness level to enjoy this location. Thank you to our wonderful exchangers for making the start of our travel so fantastic. ”

“We spent a wonderful two weeks over Christmas in Nathen and Rebecca’s beautiful heritage house with our son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. Their house is a fantastic family home: it’s extremely spacious, with large, airy rooms, a wonderful garden full of climbing frames and swings for children, not to mention the huge bonus of the swimming pool. This was much appreciated in the hot weather by all of us, especially by our 4-year-old grandson who learnt to swim while we were there as he was able to practice every day. Ashgrove is a great centre from which to explore Brisbane. The middle of the city is easily accessible by public transport as there are several buses within a 10-minute walk of the house. The transport system in Brisbane is fully integrated and you can move seamlessly from bus to ferry with one ticket, saving all the hassle of driving in the traffic and finding somewhere to park. The City Hopper ferry which services the 12 central ferry stops of the city is actually free and provides an excellent sight-seeing cruise. Brisbane is geared up for families: there were free fireworks over the river for Christmas celebrations and there is even an artificial beach created by the river with great water play facilities. For newcomers to Australia you can visit wildlife parks with koalas and there are many other attractions such as the Australia Zoo and even the Gold Coast within reach of a day trip by car. All our arrangements worked well, so many thanks to Nathen and Rebecca for a great exchange. ”
“I had a wonderful stay at Chris and Barbara's very comfortable apartment in Pyrmont. It's very close to the centre of Sydney and easy to get everywhere. We were both happy to jiggle our dates around when asked, so it was easy to work out this non simultaneous exchange between us and we also met in the UK before my exchange which is always nice to do if possible. I would readily recommend their home to other exchangers.”
“We loved this exchange! Yvonne communicated with us on a regular basis and was clear and detailed. Each day was perfect. We even had a storm with lots of rain so the waves all along the North shore of Oahu were very high at times and very dramatic. The beach access from the house is down the quiet street and through a locked gate. The beach is lovely and pretty much private most of the time. Because the coral reef is off the shore, it makes the bay calm and pleasant for snorkeling and swimming. There is definitely an undertow one should be aware of at this time of year. There is a great deal of living coral on the inside of the reef to explore. The coral is sharp and cuts easily so please be aware, especially on the feet when walking through the water. The large green turtles were certainly around and came up to the beach to sun themselves closeby. The home does have stairs and the bedrooms are upstairs. The master bed is very comfortable. This a perfect home for one or two couples. Although the ocean is just a tiny peek view from the home, you certainly can hear it. The setting for the home is lovely with a large deck on the upper floor so enjoying meals outdoors is lovely. There is also a large covered patio area near the pool as well as a beautiful grassy lawn. In Dec./Jan. the ocean was actually warmer then the pool, although the pool was very clean and large. We loved our stay and would love to return. Yvonne, is a gracious host with a rich family history and talking with her is a delight! She will be coming to Lake Almanor in California soon and we look forward to sharing our home with her and family. I personally felt as if I'd met a new forever friend. ”
