Excellent exchange - highly recommended!

Date : March 16, 2010

Recommendation about listing of Anke from Antwerpen, Belgium (ID=29600)

By Ric from Fort Myers Beach, USA (ID=30660)

My wife and I did an exchange with Anke this past summer and she and her family were an absolute joy to work with. We had 3 other exchanges fall through because of people changing their minds, but Anke was not like that. Whatever she tells you you can rely on. It was a non simultaneous exchange - we used their home in June, and they used our condo this past December. We thoroughly enjoyed their home in Antwerp - it is two story, spacious, and very well equipped. There is high-speed internet and ... read more ...

First trip to Vietnam

Date : March 15, 2010

Recommendation about listing of Melissa from Ha Noi, Viet Nam (ID=28154)

By Margaret from Somerset West, South Africa (ID=21128)

In January my husband and son spent two weeks in Mel and Clint's Hanoi home on a non-simultaneous exchange, while Mel's family was in Australia. They had a fascinating time there and really appreciated the presence of Sue, the housekeeper who cooked for them and showed them how to get around. They came back full of interesting facts about Vietnam and were disappointed that they couldn't get the same healthy Vietnamese meals at home! Thank you Mel and Clint, for your generosity, and we hope to welcome you in Somerset West before too long.

In one word: "Charming"

Recommendation about listing of Roger from Exeter, England (ID=1574)

By Norman from Ballina, Australia (ID=29776)

This is a very charming and friendly village in what has to be one of the prettiest parts of what is argueably the prettiest county in England. We spent three months in this very comfortable home in the village of Dunsford, close to, but quite seperate from Exeter. It is very centrally located for touring the south of England and there is plenty to see and do in the area. I would not hesitate to recommend Roger to any prospective exchangers.

Gracious host, perfect location

Recommendation about listing of Stefania from Firenze, Italy (ID=7252)

By Jenny from Brookline, USA (ID=7108)

The summer that we exchanged with Stefania she gave us the keys to her flat and headed off to Spain because her own plans to travel to the USA had fallen through. Amazing. I've found a code of honor among home exchangers and Stenia embodies it perfectly. Her flat is a few block from the Duomo, yet still quiet and charming. Highly recommended!

Recommendation about listing of DeDe from La Jolla, USA (ID=21121)

By Jenny from Brookline, USA (ID=7108)

We were wowed by this beautiful house and its location near the beach. Our home was pristine when we returned, and Dede was gracious throughout, even when our hot water heater died while we were away. (We had it repaired right away!) Recommended without any reservations!

Recommendation about listing of Michael from London, England (ID=3839)

By Jenny from Brookline, USA (ID=7108)

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the family and staying in their beautiful home. We enjoyed the hip neighborhood of East Dulwich very much, and the bus into town stopped at the end of the block so it was quite convenient. Our home was pristine when we returned, and we have stayed in touch and hope to see them again next time we are in London. Recommended without any reservations.

Recommendation about listing of Francois from Chateau-Gontier, France (ID=21071)

By Julie from Bathgate, Scotland (ID=22403)

We enjoyed our stay in Chemaze very much! The house is very comfortable and well-equipped, and the nearby town of Chateau Gontier is qiute beautiful.
We travelled with our son who was only 10 at the time, and enjoyed great status as the visitor from Scotland with all the local kids - and we enjoyed many games of ping-pong with friendly locals!
Lots to do in the surrounding areas, and our particular favourite was the Robert Tatin museum in Laval. An absolute must visit!
Highly recommended.

A special town location far away from tourists!

Recommendation about listing of Jean-Michel from Montauban, France (ID=22151)

By Julie from Bathgate, Scotland (ID=22403)

The Raynal family have become great friends, and we can only recommend this swap with the highest honour!
A fantastic town, with easy access to the city of Toulouse and the countryside - although there's so much to do inside the town, you may not want to!
We enjoyed many walks into the town centre to enjoy a leisurely coffee. Pottered about the boutique shops and even visited the multiplex and arthouse cinemas! We enjoyed the municipal swimming pool and the library. We went hiking in the countryside and kayaking on the Aveyron. Lunched in the garden and lounged in the home.
The house is very well equipped and easy to live in. So much so, we have returned again to stay with these generous and interesting people. And hope to continue doing so in the future!
Highly recommended.

Recommendation about listing of Annick from Saujon, France (ID=10038)

By Julie from Bathgate, Scotland (ID=22403)

Keith and Annick are wonderful hosts, and their house is just to die for. A beautiful location, with fantastic access to the coast and the countryside. Imagine barn owls swooping overhead, to the music of frogs and crickets and bats - the nature here is to be enjoyed both during the day and at night! It is an oasis of calm and tranquility - with easy access to all the facilities you need. We especially enjoyed the wild coastline, Ile D'Oleron, Ile de Re, La Rochelle, Rochefort, Saintes, Royan and more....
We loved the area and the people so much, we even got married here: (http://www.organikal.com/the-runaway-bride-and-groom)

Wonderful home in the best place of Granada

Date : March 11, 2010

Recommendation about listing of Christine from Granada, Spain (ID=5025)

By Teresa from Cadiz, Spain (ID=29037)

Christine and Stik home in Granada is located in the best place of Granada, on a square just in front of the Alhambra (Mirador de San Nicolas, where Clinton went to admire the sunset when he visited Granada). It has a very nice garden with a big table where you can have long chats after dinner or lunch, and it is very cosy. We enjoyed a lot our long week-end swap. Christine and Stik have done a lot of exchanges, and are used to it, so they gave us a lot of tips and useful recommendations. And of course, Granada is wonderful; we already knew it and love to come back to it from time to time.
