The small village of Prenteg stands at the foot of the Moel Ddu Mountain, close to Tremadog Bay, and is in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. Historically a slate and copper mining community, the village is today renowned for the regular sightings of Wales' only nesting Osprey. Just 4 miles away, aside the Glaslyn Estuary, the bustling harbour town of Porthmadog is alive with an exciting marina and an array of individual shops and restaurants, whilst being home to the historic Ffestiniog Railway. The picturesque cliffs and coves and enormous Black Rock Beach at the pretty village of Borth-y-Gest make for an idyllic day out, whilst the fabulous Italianate village of Portmeirion is a must. With the medieval castles at nearby Criccieth, Harlech and Caernarfon and a host of excellent walking and cycling opportunities within easy reach, this is an ideal location for enjoying all that Snowdonia and the Lleyn Peninsula have to offer.
