Where we want to go
Description of our house
By metro, we live 20 minutes from the capital, Washington DC, what is called "inside the beltway." It is a 15 minute walk to the metro from our house;my husband takes the metro every day. See the free Smithsonian Museums, the Capital, the White House, the monuments, restaurants, shopping and all of the great magical things to see in our nation's capital. Our home has every convenience and is large. We are located in Falls Church, a very close in suburb in Northern Virginia, considered Metropolitan Washington D.C. We need a place to stay in Stockholm, Sweden from September 5 to September 29, 2014. Our son is getting married in Stockholm on September 27 and we would like to have a place to stay other than his smaller apartment. My husband and I are seniors and we would be the only people staying in your house or apartment. We would have no objections to you being there at the same time that we stay in your house or apartment provided there is a separate bedroom for us. You could use this exchange at any time to come and stay at our home whether we are home or not. There is always a guest bedroom with two beds. We prefer to have older people make this exchange with us but would consider other options. We both have extensively traveled. We would respect your property and would want the same from you. We are easy to get along with and are "low maintenance". No pets, non-smoking please.

The neighborhood is very safe and we have great neighbors. There are sidewalks to walk-on and we are within walking distance of a major grocery store, Starbuck's, the pharmacy, and small ethnic restaurants.(We have a great Indian restaurant near by...) We are close to Tysons Corner, which has several world-famous shopping malls. You would need to rent a car if you were going to not use the metro to get around. My husband gets around 100% on the metro.
Something about ourselves
I am a retired high school teacher and college and career counselor and my husband is a PhD scientist who is still working. I love gardening, tending to my tomato raised-bed garden in the summer, viewing great scenery (especially water), love antiques and have a true appreciation for history and quality. I like to read, cook and try new foods and my husband has traveled extensively with his work. I can honestly say that we are a very international and cosmopolitan couple with a down-home country attitude !
