Our home… Is an upgraded air conditioned ranch home on two levels built into the side of a hill in a quiet suburban neighborhood which is about 20 minutes from Salt Lake International Airport and downtown Salt Lake City. We have a full kitchen, dining area and living room along with 2 bedrooms and a den on the main level. There is also a 400 square foot deck with spa, and views of mountains and north to Salt Lake City. On the lower level, we have a family room with 50” plasma TV, DVD player and entrance to backyard. On this level is one of 3 bathrooms, a laundry room, and two spare rooms which can be adapted to bedroom use, although now we use one of them mainly for storage.

Located in a suburban setting, the mountains, streams, and lakes are very close to us. Nearby (20 minute drive) are 4 ski areas in the canyons along with the amenities of a major US city. Not far away (40 minute drive) is Park City, with more ski resorts, mountain streams and lakes. Summer use of the ski areas is extensive for biking, hiking, birding, picknicking and robust outdoor activity. Rock-climbers are attracted here as well as people who enjoy hang-gliding and ballooning boating, swimming, tennis, etc. There are also music festivals with live orchestra at Deer Valley and other venues. Further (1 hr.) is the famous Sundance Resort, see photo. There are many golf courses and tournaments here. Historic Temple Square is a magnet for LDS people and others from all over and worth a visit for people of any faith. The famed Tabernacle Choir rehearses on Thursday nights and the admission is free. Utah is the home of five national parks and many national monuments. A word about us… We are Susan and Michael Jackson, retired hospital interfaith chaplains. Michael retired in August 2011 from the children’s hospital here, having served as a pastor in the United Church of Christ for 27 years We have traveled extensively in Europe, especially Scotland, England and Ireland, as well as parts of the European continent, Sweden and Russia. Our first month-long exchange was a year ago in New Zealand and we are enthusiastic about the travel this affords. We put a lot of care into our home and would do the same for yours. We would like to get to know folks who might stay in our home and would appreciate phone conversation and email with people who would like to explore the possibility of and exchange with us.
