Description of our house

Our home and detached casita are nestled in the high desert and rugged red mountains of Southwest Utah. You need only access the internet for sites on Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon to get a feel for the serene, pristine beauty of our area. We are offering the casita which is private from our home and allows us to do non-simultaneous exchanges. There are cooking and laundry facilities; a double size futon in the living room and a separate bedroom with a comfortable queen size bed. We have breathtaking views from within the casita and a private terrace which features a hot tub with extended views of the majestic mountains.

Our neighborhood

We live in an artist community which contains about 300 homes. The community was planned to protect the surrounding desert and the homes are all low profile Santa Fe style. Each home enjoys a serenity and quiet that is seldom found in todays world. Often while having coffee on the terrace, the only sound will be the scuttling of a lizard across the sand. You may hear coyotes singing in the night and the quail families run thru the desert. However the community village is within walking distance and features a wonderful coffee shop and gourmet dining. In addition there is a gift shop with unique southwest jewelry and home decor; a fine arts gallery; plus sculpture and photo galleries. The village offers classes in painting, pottery, yoga, theater and occasionally personal growth workshops. St. George is known for its year-round golf, hiking and outdoor opportunities. The historic town of St. George has beautiful parks, a downtown center and many cultural events. You can also enjoy a variety of live theater and music within the Kayenta Village. Please go to www.kayentahomes.com for more information on this amazing one-of-a-kind community.

Something about ourselves

We are Allan and Lanelle in our late 60's. Allan is a bureau director in Utah state government and Lanelle is a retired psychotherapist and educator. She currently pursues painting with a studio in the Kayenta Village and is willing to share this space with home exchangers. We are avid golfers and belong to the local country club which can also be used on an membership exchange basis. We are looking forward to travel in both the U.S. and abroad and will care for your home with the same respect that we expect from you.
