We live on a private street that is a historic district next to downtown Houston. The main house is a federally and state recognized historic building built in 1924. The guesthouse (the only one for exchange) has been completely remodeled as a very modern structure. The guesthouse is located inside a sculpture garden (our private garden) that has been designed as a Japanese/ Chinese influenced retreat . You will live 10 minutes from downtown Houston. From the balcony of the guesthouse, you can see the skyline of downtown. The guesthouse is beautifully decorated with modern and 18th century Chinese furniture. The guesthouse and the garden are extremely serene and peaceful and you will feel like you are in the countryside rather than in the middle of downtown.

The neighborbood is next to downtown,(10 m.) Midtown (5 min.)and the museum district that has among the best museums in the US.(15 min.) You may walk to several top restaurants (American, South of the border, Italian, Fusion and Asian).You are welcome to use our bikes to explore the beautiful nearby historic neighborhoods and modern Midtown. NASA is 45 minutes from our home and Galveston ( a very popular beach resort) is an hour away. Houston has generally great weather throughout the year except in the summer when it can get somewhat hot. Something about ourselves

Both my husband and I are (semi) retired attorneys in our late fifties. We are art and furniture collectors. We are very involved in the arts, particularly the Opera. We love food and wine and great restaurants. We have traveled extensively to Europe and the Far East.
