Our condo is in an historic building that was once an early 20th century candy factory. It is centrally located, close to everything downtown. The condo contains 3 rooms, a living/dining/kitchen area, a large bedroom with king-size bed and small office area with highspeed wireless internet, and a bathroom that also contains full size front-loading washer and dryer. The appliances are stainless steel, the counter tops are granite, and the floor is sealed, polished concrete. There is also a patio, with table and chairs, electric grill, and a variety of decorative plants and fresh herbs for cooking. Additionally, we can also offer a good queen size aero bed that is suitable for children or adults, and if needed we can arrange to have baby items such as port-a-crib and stroller available. The exchange also includes weekly housekeeping service.

The condo was recently used by a local filmmaker for the "loft party" scene in his short film "Henry and the Invisibles": http://vimeo.com

The building offers a variety of amenities that you can use, including a swimming pool, large community barbecue grill (gas), fully-equipped gym, and a roof deck with fantastic views of the city. The building residents are a mix of professionals and retirees. We have friendly neighbors that would be happy to meet you for an introduction to the city.

The condo building is within a 10 minute walk of all the restaurants, art galleries, and pubs in the King William district. It is approximately a 20 minute walk to the central portion of the riverwalk. There is also a streetcar system that covers downtown (the blue-line streetcar stops in front of the building), so a car is not necessary for getting around the central city (although a car is recommended for activities outside of downtown). If you are renting/driving a vehicle, you will be welcome to use our parking space in the secured lot at the condo. We can also offer a car in exchange during simultaneous house swaps. Additionally, we have a pair of bicycles for getting around to the neighborhood restaurants and shops; they are also great for taking an evening ride on the riverwalk (south access is just 2 blocks away). The condo is 2 minutes away from all of the major intestates (I-10, I-35, I-37) and highways including 90 and 281, (a bit further to 151 and I-410).

Non-simulatneous exchanges are also possible.

San Antonio is a vibrant, historic city in Southern Texas with a mix of Mexican, Spanish, German, and American Southwest cultures. The famous Alamo and Riverwalk are located here, along with many other exciting offerings such as the beautiful Missions National Park, contemporary art galleries, museums, Spurs professional basketball, first class golf and shopping. Known for outstanding Mexican food, San Antonio cuisine offers everything from upscale restaurants to outdoor barbecue. The Culinary Institute of America has opened a branch here, offering cooking classes, food tastings, and competitions. To experience traditional Texas, there are several large clubs for Western Dancing; wineries, horseback riding, as well as canoeing, kayaking, and tubing on the Guadalupe River.

Additionally, San Antonio has Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Sea World San Antonio, and Schlitterbahn water park (which becomes a magical holiday park in the winter). There is fantastic shopping in San Antonio, and the popular San Marcos outlet mall is an easy 45 minute drive on the interstate. For golfers, the Hill Country Hyatt, La Cantera, and Quarry golf courses are within a 15 minute drive of downtown. For easy day/side trips, we are only 40 miles to the Texas hill country historic towns (Boerne, Fredericksburg Kerrville, Gruene), 80 miles to Austin and 145 miles to the Corpus Christi beaches.

We have completed five very successful house exchanges. Everyone that has stayed in the condo has really enjoyed the building and location.

Hi, we are Barbara and Eddie. I have degrees in Computer Science and Math and develop software for legacy aircraft. Eddie has degreees in business and Computer Science. He runs the family RV business. We do not have children and are very flexible about dates. Regardless of where we are visiting, we're very respectful of other people's houses and belongings and would treat your things with the utmost care. We don't smoke.

We have an extremely friendly orange tabby cat, Newton, who would love to show you around, especially the cupboard where we keep his treats! We love animals and would be happy to take care of your pets. If you prefer not to deal with Newton, we can make arrangements for him to stay with friends during your visit.
