Description of our house
Our 3-year-old home sits on a large landscaped double lot just across the street from the Atlantic Ocean with beach access only a few feet away. Every room in our reverse floor plan (bedrooms downstairs, living area upstairs)has an ocean view. The upstairs front porch is screened and houses a large hot tub. The backyard has a circular deck with furniture and an umbrella as well as a Bocce court. Our home is fully apppointed with all modern appliances; one bath is en suite. Panoramic views of the ocean, sound, and Intercoastal Waterway make this a beautiful setting.

Our neighborhoodWe are located in a small beach village only 3 streets wide at the southern tip of Topsail Island. Great walking, shelling, surf fishing --lots of sun and fun without the crowds -- make this a wonderful place to live. Numerous restaurants and shops can be found both on and off the island. Historic Wilmington on the Cape Fear River is just 30 minutes away with malls, museums, and other amenities. Easy access to interstate highways makes visiting outlying areas a breeze. Washington, DC, is less than one day away to the north while Jacksonville, FL, is one-day's drive to the south.

Something about ourselvesWe are Sam and Pat, a married couple with a Pembroke Welsh corgi, who can be part of the exchange or can be taken care of by friends. We are both retired educators from West Virginia. During the past 4 years we have seen the world through 14 exchanges and have loved every one of them. Our hobbies are reading, walking, and traveling. We are available to travel any time of the year but prefer not to be gone more than 6 weeks at a time. If we exchange with anyone in North America, pets in our home would not be a problem. While we are definitely open to offers, we are very interested in Ireland, Scotland, Greece, the UK, and Alaska.
