Description of our house

Our building was recently labeled one of NYC's most desirable properties. The location is amazing, and upon entering you are in a serene, lovely lobby with a 24 hour doorman and two elevators. The apartment is on the 7th floor, on the back North East corner. It is amazingly quiet and peaceful, and extremely well lit with wrap around windows. The furnishings are vintage modern and modern, and there are a few books and pieces or artwork, although we keep it spare as it is a second home. The kitchen is fully stocked with Le Creuset cookware and anything a cook might need. It has new brushed steel appliances (dishwasher, gas stove, microwave) and granite counters. There is a toaster over and French press. The bathroom has a full bath and marble detailing. The bedroom has a queen size bed from the W Hotel line, and a dresser with a flat screen TV with full cable and a DVD player. There is a small stereo in the living area, and the apartment has wi-fi internet service. There is a laundry room in the basement, and a beautiful wrap around deck on the 2nd floor, great for enjoying the sun or a bottle of wine.

Located on the Bowery, we are surrounded by all of the exciting and new restaurants, museums, shops, bars and clubs that Manhattan has to offer. Our neighborhood is trendy Nolita, and within steps you are in Soho, the East Village, the Lower East Side, Little Italy, and Chinatown. Spring Street dead ends into our building, which is an amazing walk for shopping and dining unto itself, with Prince Street and Broadway just another block or two away! The New Museum is one block up on the Bowery, as is the new 2-story Whole Foods, and restaurants from star chef Daniel Boulud (DBGB's) and Keith McNally (Pulino's). Three blocks down Spring Street will lead you to the amazing NYC establishment Balthazar. Every shop from Prada to Top Shop is within a stone's throw. Just east of the apartment three blocks is Ludlow Street of NYC's Lower East Side, teeming with nightclubs and bars filled with live music. All of the surrounding neighborhoods are lively, day and night! Something about ourselves

My husband and I are both in our forties and musicians. He is in a touring band and also is a writer, and I have performed in touring bands and am now spending my time as a designer. We are foodies, and have plenty of recommendations for nearby restaurants. We are well traveled, having toured the world independently as musicians and as a couple, going to our favorite cities in Europe and spending time. We love NYC, and we equally love Paris, Rome and Barcelona. We also love visiting Asia, and have spent time in Hong Kong and Tokyo. We have not done a home exchange before, but with our NYC apartment to trade, we are hoping to find like-minded couples who enjoy the culture, history, architecture, food, and night life of great cities. We would hope to arrange an exchange via email in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers. ![]()
