Our 150-meter recently renovated loft in Manhattan's exciting Chelsea neighborhood is truly unique. Perched on the top floor of a 1909 building with two elevators, it has wonderful light from two large skylights and tall front windows that provide a view of city rooftops and skyscrapers. It has a huge, fully equipped, open kitchen that looks onto a 70-meter living room/dining area with beautiful hardwood flooring. The dining area contains a large table under the skylight that seats six people. In the living room there are four sofas, cable TV, DVD and stereo. There are two bedrooms, one full bathroom with a tub, shower, sink and toilet, and another, separate toilet. The master bedroom is 18-meters with a Queen-sized bed. The second bedroom is 10-meters with a single bed, but we can provide a Queen-sized bed if you need one. The apartment has central air conditioning, high speed internet, local telephone and is fully furnished. Because it is located mid-block on a side street, it is quiet at night.

Chelsea, one of Manhattan's most vibrant, varied, and safe neighborhoods, is full of shops, restaurants, art galleries, cinemas, cafes, theaters, clubs, grocery stores, nightlife, sports, etc. It is a great place for kids, too, with playgrounds everywhere. You will be right in the center of everything. It is only a 5-minute walk to the Empire State Building, Herald Square (Macy's, Lord and Taylor), the Flatiron Building, Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. The West Village, Meatpacking District, Times Square, 5th Avenue shopping, the Theater District, Grand Central Station and the High Line are all within 15 - 20 minutes walking. The major West-side Subway (#1, 2, 3 trains) has a station on our corner and all the other major lines have stations within 3 - 5 blocks.

We are Steven and Elisa, a married couple in our late forties and fifties, and Sarah, our beautiful four-year old daughter. Steve is a recently retired executive from the wine business, born and raised in New York City. All three of us enjoy traveling whenever we can. In fact, Sarah is already a veteran traveler, with her own frequent flyer plan! We love exploring the streets and boulevards of a new city, visiting museums, picnicking in parks, enjoying great food, art and culture. We have never done a home exchange before, but look forward to trying it, as it seems an ideal way to visit another country while feeling like a resident. At the same time, we hope our apartment can help make your stay in New York your best vacation ever.
