Ideally situated near stores, restaurants, and a subway stop, our apartment is less than one hour away from the New York City's finest tourist attractions--museums, theaters, bookstores, fashionable shopping, bars, nightclubs, and the like. In addition to being close to Manhattan, Brooklyn provides many opportunities to explore its history, art scene, exotic food stores and restaurants, as well as its world-famous Coney Island boardwalk. Exploring New York City (all 5 boroughs)is easy on foot and by subway, but a car is helpful for visiting areas outside the city, such as picturesque upstate New York hamlets or Atlantic City casinos.

We are Marlen and Tamara, a retired professional couple (engineer/doctor). We have a grown daughter, a lawyer, who lives in Texas. We are in good health and enjoy visiting new places. We have been to many places in Europe, and usually stay in a hotel. However, we experienced one home exchange several years ago and found it afforded a better opportunity to become familiar with a city or a region. Now that we are retired and have much more flexibility in where we travel and how long we stay, we decided that experiencing a destination like a native results in a more leisurely and satisfying visit. We enjoy good food, wine, walks on a beach, museums, and art.
