Description of our house

![]() ]
Our home with 2 cats, is very comfortable for two--even in summer with air conditioning throughout. It's a bright and charming 1 bedroom apartment on the 9th floor (just below the penthouse) in beautiful pre-war building on the Upper West Side. The bedroom has a king size bed and a TV with a DVD player and a wide variety of cable channels. The home office has free internet access and an extra bed, that can possibly used for a guest for a couple of nights because of small size and no closet space. The living room includes a TV (with a DVD player and a wide variety of cable channels), and a stereo. The dining room includes a table for 6 and a 2nd office space in the corner with internet access. There is a shower/tub combo in the bathroom, and an extraordinarily large eat-in kitchen with a washing machine & dryer.

The Upper West Side is a charming and vibrant residential neighborhood that offers the best of both worlds in urban living in New York City. There are all kinds of restaurants and cafes, off-Broadway theatres, access to Times Square in 10 minutes by subway, and access to Riverside Park and Central Park within a block or two. Central Park offers walking trails, bike and row boat rentals, and many cafes where you can get a drink, snack, or meal--including two Boat Houses. Riverside Park offers a scenic walking/bike trail along the Hudson River that goes up to the George Washington Bridge and down to Chelsea Piers. There is free kayacking, and places to eat and drink and watch the sunset. Both parks are within a 5-10 minute walk. We're 1 block from the #1 subway that goes to the theatres at Times Square, Pennsylvania Train Station for trains throughout the country, Greenwich Village and South Ferry at the southern tip of Manhattan. We are also 1 block from the crosstown bus stop that crosses Central Park and goes to major museums on Fifth Avenue. There are all kinds of shops nearby--including Broadway Farm market on our corner, and Victoria Secret, Coach, Origins, and Godiva Chocolate on our block. Zabars Gourmet market is 3 blocks away, and Lincoln Center is only a 20 minute walk or a quick subway or bus ride away. Something about ourselves

My husband and I have 2 cats, are non-smokers, tend to be neat freaks, in our fifties, and love to travel. We love our home and will take care of others' homes as our own. Exchange partners would have to feed our 2 cats, Smoke & Smudge, 2 or 3 times a day, and change the litter once a day. ![]()
