Description of our house
Thank you for your interest in our home, we are open to an exchange anywhere in the U.S. in 2009 or 2010, and are hoping to spend 2 weeks in Florence or Pisa Italy, Barcelona Spain or Vienna Austria in summer '09. We have a beautiful sunny 3rd floor apartment (no elevator), built in 1919, with original details and hard wood floors. In the Summertime the sun-room at the front of our home is surrounded by a wonderful Tree of Heaven and we have a shady enclosed deck at the back. It is a 3 bedroom home, but one of the rooms is being used as an office. Master bedroom has queen size bed, 2nd bedroom has double bed. Double futon in living room. We're 1/3 mile to the El the local train, and 1/4 mile to buses that will bring you right into the city in 20 minutes. We're less than a mile from the beach and Lake Michigan, 2 miles from Evanston, which has numerous fine restaurants and the impressive campus of Northwestern University: just 10 miles from downtown Chicago, displaying a world-renowned skyline and urban landscape. Multitude of bars and restaurants to choose from, as well as museums, parks and The Lincoln Park Zoo. Conveniently located to Wisconsin and Michigan.

Our neighborhoodThe neighbourhood is called Rogers Park and is ethnically diverse. It has a combination of old and new houses and condos. 3/4 of a mile to supermarket (delivery service) with good wine, beer and spirits selection. Fruit market and grocery store closer. 2 Organic specialty supermarkets, Whole Foods, within 2 miles. Local grocery stores for the basics within a couple of blocks. Parks, beach and playgrounds within walking distance.

Something about ourselvesWe're a married couple, no kids, who enjoy travel, good food and wine. We love wildlife and city life equally. We've had two very successful house swaps and we're eager to do lots more. Really we're open to going anywhere in the US; we'd love to visit New England, Napa / Sonoma, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons or Alaska in 2009 or 2010, and have tentative plans for meeting my elderly father-in-law for a week, somewhere beautiful and full of culture; Florence or Pisa, Vienna or Barcelona would all be good options, in Summer '09, though any offers will be considered!
