This is our home - a lovely apartment on the 9th floor, 2 bedrooms/2bathrooms. The master suite has a queen-sized bed, private full bathroom, it's own lanai with sitting bench and a single day bed (ideal for napping or even spending the night in the open air). The second bedroom is set up as our study - 2 desks, computers, printer, etc. The second full bathroom is just off the large, open great room which houses the kitchen (complete with hardwood island - perfect for entertaining) as well as the living room with a comfortable queen-sized sofa bed, 2 chaise lounges for lazy reading time and an over-sized t.v. as well as bose stereo. Off of this wonderful living room is a large lanai that functions as our dining room (table and chairs seating up to 10) overlooking the pool, Diamond Head, and a night time skyline which rivals Manhattan's. Our home is in a 24 hour secured building with safe walking paths along the Alawai Canal as well as a walking path surrounding the private Iolani School (Punahou's equivalent) next door. Our entire home was remodeled several years ago so it is fresh and waiting for you to enjoy Hawaii.

We are ideally situated close to everything in Honolulu. We are located on the excellent Oahu buslines; however, it is an easy walk to Waikiki, shopping, the beach, snorkeling, the zoo, restaurants of all flavors etc. etc. A very convenient bus or car ride to museums, galleries, foreign films, hiking, world renowned snorkeling at Hanauma Bay etc. Oahu is a beautiful island. It is often under-valued because tourists are encouraged to visit Kauai, Maui, etc. However, we promise you won't need to go any further than Oahu to visit the real Hawaii! Something about ourselves

My husband, Barry, is retired professor emeritus of the University of Hawaii, Oceanography Department. His research focuses on climate change and air-sea interaction. I am an RN working part-time in a public health clinic. We are former residents of South County in southern Rhode Island so we have strong ties there. We are fortunate to have a small home (also available for exchange) in Colorado Springs where our grandchildren live.
