Sunny and warm is what or Beach house delivers.Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach are one of the same. This town is the best kept secret in Florida. The locals say we're not in Fl, but South Georgia. That is said because Fernandina is the second oldest city in Fl, and you will see that with the many historical homes here on the Island....(See the area on this UTUBE site.... https://mail.google.com
We have done over 20 trades, so we can put a trade together. I designed and built this house for my wife and I. The home is 2400 sq ft. It has 3 bedrooms-3 1/2 baths. Each bedroom has its own bath. The second floor consist of a designer kitchen, with all high end appliances, and the master bedroom with a whirlpool master bath. There is a wrap around deck. From the front you are looking at the Atlantic, which is 150 yards away. You get sun out front in the morning, then in the afternoon, the rear deck has great sunsets, and a BBQ for dinners. The first floor has 2 bedrooms, laundry room, and a family room. There is plenty of storage for your surf board, and beach items.
Amelia is a small Island with only 16,000 residents. You drive over the Intracoastal waterway to get on the Island. Fernandina is the city on the N end of the Island. Downtown Fernandina is only 5 blocks long, with good restaurants and neat shops. Amelia is vey friendly, and smiles and helpful comments are abound. We are 45 minutes NE of Jacksonville, Fl. Getting to JAX you have to fly through a hub, and then take a flight here. I also recommend that you fly to Orlando. Spend a few days in Disney, rent a car, and drive 3 hours to get here.
Our house is across the street from a very private beach area. We have a tides clock so you can walk the beach at the best times. When it is low tide, there will be 50 yards of beach. What makes our beach great is that our sand is hard. When you walk/run/bike, you will not go into the sand up to your ankle.
There is plenty of golf. I am a member of one club, and can arrange for you to play there. There are also 3 other courses that are all great tracks. We have 8-12 great restaurants that are all individually owned. None are franchise places, so you will have a hard time naming your favorite.
Amelia Island has 3 sections. The North end is the old city, but also has the paper mills. We are in the middle section that is very Beachy. The south end is all residential. It is very safe on the Island. We usually don't lock our doors. The city golf course is 1 mile away. My private club course is available if I make arrangements. Boat rentals at the city Marina is 3 miles away.
To get to the beach just cross the street and walk 100 yards to our huge beach. Most people spend an hour the first day, but expand that daily as they see how beautiful it is.Surfing is very popular here. If you want to get away and relax, come play, golf, or ride a bike, Amelia is perfect. We are 45 minutes NE of Jacksonville, Fl.
