Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach are one in the same. Amelia is a small Island with only 16,000 residents. Fernandina is the city on the N end of the Island. Fernandina is the second oldest city in Florida, and has lots of historic buildings. Downtown Fernandina is only 5 blocks long, with good restaurants and neat shops. Amelia is south Georgia, so you will experience that type of charm.

We are 45 minutes NE of Jacksonville, Fl. Getting to JAX you have to fly through a hub, and then take a flight here. I recommend that you fly to Orlando. My previous guest have done that. Rent a cars are cheap there, you can do Disney for a day or two, and then drive 3 hours to Amelia.

Our house is across the street from a very private beach area. We have a tides clock so you can walk the beach at the best times. When it is low tide, there will be 50 yards of beach. High tide there is maybe 10.

There is plenty of golf. I am a member of one club, and can arrange for you to play there. There are also 3 other courses that are all great tracks.

We have 8-12 great restaurants that are all individually owned. None are franchise places, so you will have a hard time naming your favorite.

If you want to get away and relax, come play golf, or ride a bike, Amelia is perfect.

My wife and I are retired, and live here 6 mos, and in our second home 6 mos.We have done 10 trades in the states and in Europe. We have a good friend who helps with the keys and any thing you may want when you are there. We love Chicago,Europe, but we'll consider anywhere!
