We just can't wait to get to our beach condo, our home away from home! We love to walk the white sandy beach, swim in the pools, body surf in the ocean, play tennis, bike the beach or in the village, or just hang out at the condo. The balcony is great for reading, enjoying meals or snacks or just relaxing and watching the ocean. The large ocean-front sun-deck is also great for sunning, reading, watching dolphins or other activies in the surf. Our condo is a townhouse (two floors) with kitchen, dining and living area with the balcony and half bath down, two bedrooms and two full baths upstairs. Cable TV and DVD/VCR are located downstairs and upstairs. Our home is well furnished for comfort and convenience, vinyl and carpet downstairs, wood flooring on the stairs and upstairs. We face southeast but also have a northeast view of the ocean from the back balcony and entrance. Canaveral National Seashore is just three miles south of us with a visitor center and programs on natural history and nature/science education.

New Smyrna Beach is one of the best kept secrets, located on Florida's east coast 250 miles south of the Georgia State line and between Daytona Beach and Cocoa Beach. Daytona is 20 miles away and known for it's auto racing (Daytona 500), it's drive-on beach and night life. Cocoa Beach is about an hour south of us and is near the Kennedy Space Center. We are 10 minutes from I-95, yet away from all the traffic and congestion. Fly into Orlando International Airport (75 minutes away), Daytona (20 minutes) or Sanford International Airport (30 minutes). We love the quiet and artsy shopping areas of Flagler Avenue on the beach side or historical downtown Canal Street on the mainland. Historic St Augustine, the oldest city in America, is just an hour north of us. Reasonable restaurants, grocery stores and department stores are nearby for any needs. We're 75 minutes from Disney World, Sea World, and Universal Studio resorts and about 2 hours from Tampa/St. Petersburg and the west coast of FL. We enjoy the real (Natural) Florida with Canaveral National Seashore just three miles south of us or Ponce DeLeon Springs State Park, 45 minutes away where we enjoy the all-you-can-eat, make-your-own pancakes in the Old Sugar Mill, swim in the natural springs year-round, canoe or kayak the river, and hike the trails among the cypress trees and Spanish Moss on the huge old oak trees. There are several other State Parks nearby with similar nature and activites to enjoy, including Blue Springs, known for viewing manatees in the winter months. ![]() Something about ourselves

We are Colleen(58) and Jim(67) with three grown children who live on their own and two college students. We are both retired teachers (June 2011) and are looking forward to many more exchanges, now that we have more flexiblility for traveling. We experienced the once-in-a-lifetime experience of a series of home exchanges in Europe, beginning in Iceland, then Holland, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, and ending in England for our first Home exchange experience in 2007. We are hooked on homeforexchange and wish to experience more of the best vacations, ones where you live like the locals, care for their animals, enjoy their bikes, and meet their neighbors, etc. We are hoping to arrange several exchanges of one week or more each in Spain, Portugal, and Netherlands for winter/spring of 2013. We look forward to exchanging homes as we travel and learn about other cultures. We hope to also provide these opportunities to our home exchange guests. We will respect your home as we are sure you will respect ours. Let's get to know each other and share the best ideas for the area where we will exchange! ![]()
