The family room includes a 40" HDLCD TV, a DVD player, some books and magazines, and some toys and books for little ones. There are several international news channels (France, Russia, Japan, China .... and also in English) besides public channels. There are couple other TVs in the house. There is a wireless modem and a spare computer. More inside photos would be available when we communicate via email. We take a good care of our house and will do the same with others and respect their properties as we expect the same from our guests.

Our wonderful neighborhood on the Potomac River is located in Fort Washington, Maryland, 5 miles south of the Washington and Alexandria VA borders. It is an easy 20-minute drive to center of Washington. Two metro stations with parking are 15-min. away and a 10-min. train ride to be in DC center. A metro bus stop is two blocks away. National Harbor (NH) is 5 minutes away and it features Gaylord National, the largest resort and convention center in DC metro. NH also has regular water taxi schedules to/from Old Town Alexandria, Georgetown, and Mount Vernon along the Potomac. Trails along the river to Washington and Mount Vernon are nearby and there are many beautiful parks and some golf courses. Alexandria is a 10 min. drive. G. Washington's home at Mount Vernon is across the river and a 20-min drive. A vehicle would be available for our guests.
Dullus airport (IAD) offers many direct flights including international. DCA and BWI airports are other choices. There is a city bike program, Segway Tour, and rentals for canoes, kayaks, and bikes. Multiple venues of concerts, performances, and films are available every week all year round in addition to many museums and monuments; free admission. There are plenty of ethnic restaurants. This city may be unique in that 170+ embassies are located in DC and several embassies often host cultural events. Washington has many educated nationalities, young and old as well as many children; the city offers lots for cultural interests with nature surroundings.
Some ideas for day trips are: Annapolis and Chesapeake Bay is a 45-min and Baltimore is an hr drives. NEW YORK CITY is 4.5 hrs and Philadelphia is 3 hrs; coach bus services are affordable and available to both cities with frequent and incl. early / late schedule. Atlantic Ocean is 2.5-hrs away & Shenandoah Mountains are 2-hrs. Colonial Williamsburg is 2.5-hrs and T. Jefferson's home is a 2.5-hrs.
ICE! 2010 - Christmas at the Gaylord National Resort; Nov. 18, 2010 to Jan. 9, 2011

We are a married couple, both are civil engineers and in early 40's with a small child. Besides having appreciation for music, art, and dance, we are fascinate with different local life styles, cultures, and people. We enjoy nature beauty at ocean/water and mountain areas. We do ski and our little one has been to 3 European countries and the Caribbeans. Each of us two understands a tiny bit of French or Spanish.
We are non-smokers, responsible, and respectful. We don't have pets but do enjoy them. Our FL beach house will be available for exchange possibly in a few years. We desire to travel up to two long trips a year for a week and/or up to two weeks during a mild or ideal weather climate. We're flexible with 5-day or less weekend trip. We had rewarding exchange experiences and looking forward to a next exchange.
We are interest in coastal areas of US, ski areas, Caribbeans, Banff, the European ... We are open for suggestions.
